Women’s Legal Resources Centre
Our solicitors give legal advice and referrals to all women in NSW free
of charge each weekday. We also provide legal education sessions for
women and community workers throughout NSW on issues relating to women
and the law.
Women’s Legal Resource Centre provides free legal advice over
the phone (until the 15th of March 2010 when this service will be temporarily unavailable), free face-to-face advice services in western Sydney and rural
NSW (see our Outreach Services below).
WLRC solicitors conduct community
legal education (CLE) sessions on
issues concerning women throughout NSW. For further information see our CLE page
We also publish plain English booklets on a range of topics of interest
to women, see our Publications page.
Outreach Services
Legal Outreach is a free service enabling women to meet face-to-face
with solicitors and discuss legal issues.
The service is conducted at five locations across Western Sydney and
in Wyong. Each location was identified as an area of high need, where
a face-to-face legal service would be useful. Once a fortnight, women
can meet with a solicitor from Women's Legal Services and receive the
following free services:
- Legal advice
- Information
- Access to services such as interpreters
- Referrals to community organisations and service providers
While clients can receive advice and referrals, Legal Outreach cannot
offer representation in a court case. Assistance can be provided in finding
legal representation and information.
