Community Legal Education

Through Community Legal Education, Women’s Legal Services NSW informs women about the legal system and their legal rights. Women’s Legal Services NSW aims to maximise access to information for the most disadvantaged women in NSW by training community and support workers about legal issues affecting women.

Women’s Legal Services NSW provides Community Legal Education workshops across NSW in metropolitan and rural areas.

We can provide workshops on topics including:

  • Domestic violence and Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs)
  • Sexual assault
  • Family law
  • Counsellors’ records and subpoenas
  • Victim's compensation
  • Human Rights
  • Women and the law
  • Cyber bullying

We have provided workshops to groups including:

  • Women’s groups
  • Community and social workers
  • Refuge workers
  • Migrant and refugee support workers
  • General Practitioners
  • Lawyers
  • School and University students

As part of its Community Legal Education work, Women’s Legal Services NSW produces publications and resources.
