Family Relationship Centres and Community Legal Centres Partnership Program
In late 2009 the Federal Attorney General announced a trial project for community legal centres and legal aid commissions to provide child focused early intervention legal services at Family Relationship Centres around Australia. Since 2010 it has been a three-year program. Read more

Human Rights and Advocacy
We are taking a community development approach to this project by building the capacity of Aboriginal women to advocate for law and policy reform. We will develop a report and DVD for the community to use in their lobbying process. Read more

Legal Education and Advice in Prison (LEAP) for Women
The Legal Advice and Education in Prison (LEAP) for Women pilot program assists women prisoners in realising and enforcing their human rights, in particular their rights in accessing justice. The service is provided by Wirringa Baiya Aboriginal Women’s Legal Centre, Women’s Legal Services (WLS) NSW and Hawkesbury Nepean Community Legal Centre in recognition of the high levels of unmet need amongst prisoners for civil and family law services. Reaching Out for Rights Project
Improving access to justice for women who have experienced family violence
Women's Legal Services NSW received a grant of $150,000 to support the Reaching Out for Rights Project from the NSW Office For Women Family and Domestic Violence Grants Program 2009/2010 for twelve months. The project focussed on six regions of NSW that were been identified as having high unmet legal need. Read more

Safe in Our Place
SIOP is a 12-month project created by Women's Legal Services NSW and funded by the Office for Women as part of their Violence Prevention Coordination Unit. This project aims to train community workers who come into contact with emerging CALD communities in Sydney and in regional NSW about family violence and how to provide culturally appropriate services to the various communities they work with. Skill Up Speak Up
The Indigenous Women’s Legal Program WLSNSW is conducting workshops around NSW to provide an opportunity for Aboriginal women to discuss police and legal support for those who have experienced family violence. These workshop will provide practical tips and information to lessen the gap between legal rights and human rights. Read more
