Family Relationship Centres and Community Legal Centres Partnership Program
In late 2009 the Federal Attorney General announced a trial project for community legal centres and legal aid commissions to provide child focused early intervention legal services at Family Relationship Centres around Australia. Since 2010 it has been a three-year program.
Women’s Legal Services NSW and Hawkesbury Nepean Community Legal Centre (HNCLC) formed a partnership to provide the following legal services to clients of Blacktown and Penrith Family Relationship Centres:
- legal information sessions about family law at Penrith Family Relationship Centre
- legal advice clinics at both Family Relationship Centres
- some lawyer-assisted family dispute resolution
- professional development workshops for Family Relationship Centre staff
Contact your local Family Relationship Centre or the Family Relationships Advice Line on 1800 050 321 to find out about similar services in other locations.
