Family Law – Put Safety First

Women's Legal Services NSW, with Women's Legal Services Australia (the national network of women's legal services), is calling on the government to put safety first in the family law system.

The Family Law Legislation Amendment (Family Violence and Other Measures) Bill is currently before Parliament.

While the proposed changes are an important first step to better protecting the safety of women and children in the family law system, more changes are necessary to ensure the family law system does not jeopardise the safety of women and children.
